LAPIEZA gallery exhibition
Rosetta Window Gallery exhibition
|
Installation: 11/02/2012. Official opening: Thursday 1st March from from 7-9pm. Ends: 27/03/2012. Works will change over the lifetime of the exhibition and will begin with the following pieces of work:
Some objects are idolised, others are used every day and not fully appreciated. Objects we buy, surround ourselves with and throw away have a personality of their own. Much like people, objects are altered by their surroundings, purposes and shapes. All the drawings are created with oil pastel on either white of coloured paper. Drawings are glued onto thrownaway cardboard and then cut-out to give the relief or 3D effect. |
Paul Doeman at LAPIEZA gallery, Madrid. April 2011.
Videos shot at an exhibition of my work at LAPIEZA gallery in Madrid, Spain in April 2011. During the exhibition I drew objects in the gallery that had been chosen or created by other artists. I mounted the drawings on cardboard and displayed them in the gallery. |

LAPIEZA: Relational cloud – drawings of junk art objects
While displaying ready-made works, yellow banana skins and black and white banana skins, I drew some of the junk art objects in the gallery and 2 items (crash helmet and gloves) provided by visitors.

Banana skin drawings at Lapieza
Both coloured and black and white banana skin drawings are in situ at Lapieza. Continuing Lapieza’s theme of junk art. |
